SIMON WEBB NPQH, MBA - INTERIM CEO

 

Simon has 20 years of senior management experience in schools including Head of an international secondary school, Vice principal in maintained schools and a track record in school improvement. As an HMI Inspector, he became highly training at evaluating schools strengths and weaknesses and had enhanced training in SEND, safeguarding and independent schools. He currently works with several large multi-academy trusts, Central Bedfordshire and Lewisham local authorities and is the Chief Inspector for Cambridge Education where he leads on inspection of overseas independent schools in Spain and other countries. Recently Simon has being working for the Department for Education as an Advisor supporting free schools. 

 

ANITA KAUR NOTTA BSc (HONS), NPQH - EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL OF KHALSA ACADEMY WOLVERHAMPTON AND KHALSA SECONDARY ACADEMY 

Anita is currently the Executive Principal of The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton & Khalsa Secondary Academy. She joined The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton as an Assistant Headteacher when it opened in 2015 and was then promoted to Vice Principal in 2017. Previously she was an Assistant Head and Head of Computing for the Bower Park  Academy in Essex where she worked since 2007. Anita is a graduate of the De Montford University in Leicester.

 

DAVID MARTIN - EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER OF ATAM ACADEMY

David joined ATAM Academy as their Executive Headteacher in January 2021. He is an experienced senior leader with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in E-Learning, Literacy, Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, and School Improvement. David is committed to inclusion and securing positive transformational opportunities and outcomes for students and staff, in often very diverse and complex contexts, across the full age-range of different types of all-ability state-funded schools.

BAS SINGH BASRA - DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Bas is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in Senior Finance Roles in a number of global locations.   Bas spent over 15 years in the Oil & Gas Services industry including 6 years in various FD roles in Asia Pacific.  He was most recently, the Regional FD for Subsea 7, responsible for Europe & Africa  overseeing a region with revenues in excess of $2bn and 4000 employees.  After taking a 1 year career break, Bas joined Khalsa Secondary Academy  in 2014 and built up his knowledge and understanding of the education sector in various roles & capacities before being appointed the Director of Finance in 2015.

MANJIT SINGH KALEY - DIRECTOR OF PROJECTS AND COMPLIANCE

Manjit was educated in the Netherlands as an electronics engineer.  He  worked in the USA and has over 10 years experience in building management systems. He currently helps manage buildings systems for over 30 blue-chip organisations, including the BBC and special schools. Manjit was a parent Governor for Khalsa Primary School and is now supporting new schools within the Multi-academy trust through the pre-opening phase. Manjit was the co-founder of Khalsa Secondary Academy in Stoke Poges. Manjit is responsible for all capital projects and new school buildings as well as compliance across the Trust

BINDER GILL - SENIOR HR MANAGER

Mr Binder Gill is the Trust’s senior HR Manager who joined in September 2020. He has over 25 years experience in Human Resources in the education sector and has worked in Local Authorities and private Education providers supporting Community, voluntary aided, multi academy trusts and independent schools nationally.

One of his portfolio’s was to oversee and successfully manage over 200+ schools in the South East of England. This role which he had over 7 years involved managing a team of professional consultants providing comprehensive HR support to school leaders and governors.

He has successfully carried out TUPE transfers, Academy conversions, implemented change programmes and delivered bespoke training to management teams and staff.

Prior to joining the Khalsa Academies Trust, Binder had been very closely supporting the Trust for the past 4 years as a HR consultant and says he no hesitation in wanting to apply and be appointed to this exciting role!

PAUL TOPPING - DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS

Paul is a very experienced Principal/Headteacher having successfully led two large secondary schools in the UK and in one in the Netherlands since 2006. He was a National Leader in the UK until his move to an international Headship. Paul also taught in the US earlier in his career. He is a scientist by background with continuing interests in music and sport. He has a good knowledge of UK, US and IB curricula.

Paul is an experienced Ofsted inspector and a leadership coach and has significant experience in supporting leadership teams in recruitment and improvement work. He has particular interests in leadership team development, governance and strategy for school improvement and is a trustee with In2Science UK.

A strong advocate of professional learning, Paul has been a lead for the UK National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and is an accomplished writer and facilitator for senior leader and Headship qualifications. He has presented at a number of international conferences.

Paul’s first degree is in Pharmacology (University of Liverpool). He holds a PGCE from Christ’s College, Liverpool, an MA (Ed) from the Open University and the Professional Qualification for School Inspectors (PQSI) from Liverpool Hope University. In his spare time, Paul is a keen road cyclist.

JON GIBSON - TRUST SEND LEAD 

Jon is currently supporting settings across the South, where he has worked with a 100 plus Secondary, Primary, Middle, First or Special schools. He also currently holds an advisory role in SEND and a School Improvement Partner. He has also worked in three Education Opportunity areas. Recently, he was team lead for the SEND review of the State of Guernsey and Alderney and was a team member for the Inclusion Review of the State of Jersey. 

His articles have been published in the nasen connect magazine, Sec Ed and Primary Headteacher.

He started teaching drama in London in 1996 and has been a leader since his second year of teaching. He became a Senior leader in 2004, working in mainstream and SEND settings. He has experience of successfully leading: Teaching & Learning; Curriculum; Professional Development; Student Services and SEND; Data and School Improvement and other areas.

As well as this, he has written a Level 2 course specifications for EDEXCEL, he has been a Challenge Partner Reviewer and is a trained British Schools Overseas Reviewer and SEND reviewer. 

 

SUKHDEV SHOKER – Trust Safeguarding Lead

Sukhdev is currently the Trust DSL for the Khalsa Academies Trust as well as Vice Principal for Behaviour and Attitudes at The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton. Trained as a Maths teacher Sukhdev worked in a variety of challenging schools across the West Midlands before joining The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton. Sukhdev is committed to developing a strong embedded culture of safeguarding practice across the Trust with the wellbeing of students at the heart of everything the schools do.
