Mr Nick Singh Kandola MA, MBA Trust Leader
Nick is the Chief Executive of the Trust and has been involved in helping establish multiple schools within the UK. He was the Chair of Governors for the Khalsa Primary School for over seven years. He has built and acquired software businesses in the UK and India. He has worked in various director level roles within the NHS for over six years. His last major role was Operations Director at Oxford Health NHS responsible for three Mental Health Hospitals. He is the co-founder of the Khalsa Secondary Academy in 2013 and led the application for 2 further successful free school bids, Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton and the Atam Academy in Redbridge.
Mr Simon Webb NPQH, MBA Director of School Improvement
Simon has 15 years of senior management experience in schools including Head of an international secondary school and a track record in school improvement. As an experienced full time ex-HMI Inspector, he is highly training at evaluating schools strengths and weaknesses. He is the Chief Inspector for Cambridge Education where he leads on inspection of overseas independent schools in Spain and other countries. Recently Simon has being working for the Department for Education as an Advisor supporting free schools
Mr Chris Drew BSc (Hons), PGCE Headteacher Khalsa Secondary Academy
Chris joined KSA as Headteacher after working in various senior leadership roles for the last 17 years, including ten years as head of a large secondary school in the North East of England. He has also recently helped turn around a school in Special Measures.
Ms Anita Kaur Notta BSc(hons), NPQH Principal
Ms Anita Kaur Notta is currently the Principal of The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton. She joined the school as an Assistant Headteacher when it opened in 2015 and was then promoted to Vice Principal in 2017. Previously she was an Assistant Head and Head of Computing for the Bower Park Academy in Essex where she worked since 2007. Anita is a graduate from the De Montford University in Leicester.
Mr Bas Singh Basra BA Director of Finance
Bas is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in Senior Finance Roles in a number of global locations. Bas spent over 15 years in the Oil & Gas Services industry including 6 years in various FD roles in Asia Pacific. He was most recently, the Regional FD for Subsea 7, responsible for Europe & Africa overseeing a region with revenues in excess of $2bn and 4000 employees. After taking a 1 year career break, Bas joined Khalsa Secondary Academy in 2014 and built up his knowledge and understanding of the education sector in various roles & capacities before being appointed the Director of Finance in 2015.
Mr Manjit Singh Kaley Director of Projects & Compliance
Manjit Singh Kaley was educated in the Netherlands as an electronics engineer. Manjit has worked in the USA and has over 10 years experience in building management systems. He currently helps manage buildings systems for over 30 blue-chip organisations, including the BBC and special schools. Manjit was a parent Governor for Khalsa Primary School and is now supporting new schools within the Multi-academy trust through the pre-opening phase. Manjit was the co-founder of Khalsa Secondary Academy in Stoke Poges. Manjit is responsible for all capital projects and new school buildings as well as compliance across the Trust
Ms Sulina Piesse MA, NPQH Executive Head
Sulina has been with the Trust for over three years having joined us in 2016 as a Deputy Principal at Khalsa Secondary Academy, Stoke Poges. Sulina is currently our Executive Head and oversees the Atam Academy, an Outstanding all through school in Redbridge.
Previously Sulina has worked in several schools in London as an assistant headteacher. Sulina has a Masters in Leadership & Management (Education) and is fluent in Spanish and French.
Sulina is a trained Ofsted Inspector.
