SHAMINDER KAUR RAYATT - CHAIR OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES, CHAIR FAITH & ETHOS COMMITTEE

Shaminder is the Chair of Trustees and a senior educationalist in the college sector.  Her expertise lies in improving Sixth Form provision and she was one of the team which set up the outstanding Sixth Form College Suffolk One.  During her leadership as Faculty Head for Humanities, the college was graded as outstanding and remains so to this day.  She was recently the Deputy Director of Barnet and Southgate College leading the A Level, Science, Creative arts and Digital Technology Directorate. Shaminder has extensive experience in working with executive teams to design and implement college vision, strategic plans, policies and procedures and is a highly skilled people manager with a record of responsibility for 76 staff and over 2000 students studying Level 1 to Degree Level qualifications.  Shaminder is also a specialist in implementing the use of ALPs to drive up value added across all Level 3 programmes

MANMEET SINGH - CHAIR OF FINANCE, AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE & TRUSTEE

Manmeet Singh is an accomplished Chief Risk and Compliance Officer with a progressive career spanning over 30 years specialising in risk, governance and compliance (GRC) in highly regulated financial services industry. He has a consistent track record in developing robust risk management frameworks, maintaining effective governance structures, embedding industry and firm specific compliance policies and processes, and ensuring ongoing alignment with regulatory bodies.

Manmeet was instrumental in establishing the risk and compliance function for British Business Bank which was transitioned from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills in 2015 and was responsible for spearheading transition from OFT to FCA for BNP LS. Before moving over to GRC expertise, he was the Group Financial Controller for a Telecom Group.

Manmeet is currently the Vice Chair of Trustees and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee

SUSAN JACKSON - CHAIR OF STANDARDS COMMITTEE, TRUSTEE AND TRUSTEE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFEGUARDING

Susan Jackson MA has over 30 years experience in education. She was a teacher, administrator, and three times School Principal (UK, Argentina, France), before establishing her consultancy. Susan has been a UK Ofsted Inspector of Schools for 15 years, and a Lead Inspector of Free Schools, Studio Schools, University Technical Colleges (UTC) and Academy conversions. She was selected by the British Cabinet Office for appointment to Public Bodies in 1992 and by the Department for Education for service on public bodies in 1993.

For over 25 years Susan has been an Examiner for the IB (International Baccalaureate). She has been a research fellow at the University of Bristol and was chosen to lead the Independent / International Schools’ Initiative at the National Development Centre for Educational Management and Policy. Susan is a Governor of an “outstanding” (OFSTED) State school in London, and of an “excellent” (ISI) girls’ independent school in Harrogate. She sits on the Management Committee of Caius House, the charitable mission established by Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Susan also has assumed responsibility as the safeguarding lead governor of two schools. Susan assumed full responsibility for the project management of 3 conversions: Pimlico Academy, Drapers' Academy and The Samworth Enterprise Academy. Susan is the Vice Chair of Trustees and the safeguarding lead for the Trust.

AMRIT SINGH MAAN FRSA- TRUSTEE

Amrit Singh Maan is a fourth generation Seven Dials resident & businessman.  His family first arrived in London in 1936 and moved to Covent Garden in 1951. He owns the Punjab Covent Garden, UK’s first and oldest Punjabi Indian Restaurant, founded by his great grandfather in 1946.  Amrit's background is in law and is a qualified solicitor, specializing in the fields of diversity & inclusion, and currently provides pro bono legal advice in his spare time. Amrit is an active philanthropist supporting homeless, heritage and military charities; he has management consultancy experience and worked for the Mayor of London. Amrit holds an MBA from Cranfield University and a MA in World Comparative Religions, Amrit is also a regular guest speaker on BBC Radio Oxford Sunday Reflections and a public speaker on business, faith and diversity. Amrit was elected in 2019 as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in recognition of his contribution to Arts and Diversity. 

KANNY DUA -TRUSTEE

Kanny is a qualified actuary with the Institute of Actuaries in the UK. Over his 35 year career in financial services, Kanny has held multiple senior leadership positions across a diverse range of companies and across global markets in the US, Europe, and the UK. His recent roles include CEO of a niche general insurance company, COO, and CFO of a European division of a multi-national life assurer. He led operational responsibility for finance, legal risk, compliance, HR & IT, and the product development , strategic risk committee, and finance. His recent career has built on his Board governance experience in consulting for well-known organisations in risk, capital, and governance projects.

HARBHAJAN SINGH BRAR - CHAIR OF PERSONNEL COMMITTEE, TRUSTEE

Harbhajan Singh Brar is currently employed as the Director of Human Resources at Imperial College, London.

Harbhajan has over 35 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources and has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development for over 25 years. 

Prior to joining Imperial Harbhajan was employed as the Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Director of Human Resources at Sodexo UK; Director of Human Resources at the Department of Health; Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust; Director of Human and Organisational Development at Kingston Hospital and as Director of Human Resources at Lewisham College. 

Harbhajan has also worked as Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations (CRER) based at Warwick University, where he taught on their ‘MA in Race and Ethnic relations’. Harbhajan has also researched and written several articles in the field of equal opportunities, including co-authoring the following research studies; ‘Ealing's Dilemma - Implementing Race Equality’; ‘Invisible Minorities - Racism in New Towns and New Contexts’ and ‘Race Equality and the Local State’.

Harbhajan has served on the Policy Boards of NHS Employers and NHS Professionals.

Harbhajan was a Trustee and Chair of DAAP (Drugs and Alcohol Project) and a Trustee of the Sodexo Foundation.  Harbhajan also serves as a Justice of Peace.
