SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT (PART-TIME,  TEMPORARY POST UNTIL JULY 2021,  UPTO £15 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

The Khalsa Academies Trust is looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Assistant to work in our marketing department to promote the Trust and its three schools. The Social Media Assistant is responsible for working closely with Trust leaders, school leaders, brainstorming campaigns, creating social media posts and analysing analytics. The role is on a part time basis for up to 2 days per week. To be successful as a Social Media Assistant, you must have a track record of running successful social media campaigns, excellent time management, writing and creative skills. We would expect that the Social Media Assistant would be required to keep abreast of educational issues, policy and news stories.

Social Media Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

Work with Heads of each school and Trust leaders to brainstorm campaigns and ideas. Work closely with school SLT members to produce news stories that promote and showcase the schools, students and their work. Contribution of students and staff in community service and charity work.

Promote all Trust and school events via social media

Check school websites to make sure the information is accurate and updated regularly and are of high quality

Create social media posts on all usual platforms. Use analytics tools to gauge the success of campaigns. Research educational innovations and tools. Update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimization. Search Engine Optimisation Prepare reports on campaigns based on analytics and share positive stories with schools and staff.

Person Specification Requirements: Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Analytical skills. Excellent communication skills. Eagerness to learn about new innovations and software. Excellent time management skills. A degree in communication, marketing or social media. Prior experience in marketing or social media.

New Trustees required by the Board

The Khalsa Academies Trust is a three-school Multi Academy Trust that supports local communities to help establish and run Sikh Schools. Three new non-executive directors are sought with experience in Financial Management, HR and Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND). Board meetings are held in Stoke Poges, Slough. Applicants of all faiths and of none are welcomed.

The board seeks 3 business leaders with expertise in:

  • HR
  • Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND)
  • Finance

Three key challenges for the trust over the next 12-24 months are:

  1. Post Covid recovery

  2. Educational standards – turning schools rated ‘Good’ into ‘Outstanding’ schools.

  3. Financial management – ensuring budgets are maintained and forecasted to allow for a surplus of funds.

  4. Brand improvement – build and improve upon the reputation of the trust across all stakeholders.

  5. Governance – To contribute to the improvement of governance within the board as the trust works to address the recent Termination notice that has been issued to one of its academies, and move forwards to secure the best possible outcomes for children

What’s involved?

Board governance in education is a strategic, ‘eyes on, hands off’ commitment which typically involves attending c. six board meetings per year/6-8 hours’ time per month.

You will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent
