Trust Sikh Faith Lead

Salary Scale: Scale point 32 – 36

£40,221.00 (full time equivalent at SCP 32)

37.5 hours (term time plus two weeks)

 

We are looking for a proactive Trust Sikh Faith Lead who is committed to leading and monitoring the Trust Sikh Framework. You will support the CEO and assist the Principals in any Sikh related or community matters.

About the role:

· Leading, monitoring and implementing the development of the Trust Sikh framework, which includes Sikh Studies and enrichment activities.

· To liaise and work with the local and national communities on Sikh related issues and perform the role of a Sikh Chaplain (advice and guidance for staff, students and families of the Trust).

· Advising the Trust on Sikh related matters.

· Leading the development of the Sikh Studies curriculum in conjunction with stakeholders

 

About you:

 

• Have a passion for education

• A respectable GurSikh (Amritdhari Sikh) who is committed to the development of the faith in our Trust.

• Has a dynamic commitment to the promotion and development of the Trust

• Will need to support and promote the ethos of the Trust which is based on universal Sikh values, welcoming children of all faiths and none

• The ability to set an example, in terms of demeanour, consideration for others, kindness, tolerance, discretion, humility, strength of purpose and generosity of spirit, which models for others the nature of outstanding pastoral care in a Sikh Academy

• Is not a member of any Sikh “Jatha” and will only promote the Akaal Takht Rehat Maryada

• Has a strong academic base; comprising a minimum of a degree (desirable)

• Has very good communication skills, in listening to others, the ability to influence others, as well as oral and written presentational skills

• Is able to travel between our schools - Midlands and East London, and any academies that join us.
