Head of Humanities – ATAM Academy

Salary: MPS / UPS (Inner London) plus TLR2

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

ATAM Academy is part of the Khalsa Academies Trust and is our first “all-through” school.
KAT is a Multi Academy Trust with 2 other secondary schools based in Stoke Poges, Slough and Wolverhampton.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a colleague to lead the Humanities Department (Geography, History, Religious Studies and PSHE) at ATAM Academy by becoming the Head of Department. This middle leadership role will secure exceptional outcomes for all students, design, develop, publicise and promote the ethos, structures and systems to achieve this goal.
We are looking for someone who can lead the Humanities Department with kindness, warmth and dynamism, but also with total clarity, relentless consistency and a refusal to accept anything other than the very highest possible standards.
The successful candidate will play a major role under the overall direction of the Executive Headteacher who will be empowered to improve policy, process and practice in the delivery of Humanities subjects across the school.
We are looking for someone who has a proven ability in strategic thinking, ensuring the Academy continues to provide high quality education for all our children in a caring, inclusive environment.
This post will enhance the middle leadership team of the academy and will take a lead role in all aspects of school improvement.
