Welcome to Atam Primary
SCHOOL Re-OPENING - A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF PRIMARY
We have begun the process of re-opening Atam Academy Primary, starting with Nursery, Reception and Year One. We are able to do this because of careful implementation of enhanced hygiene, social distancing and creation of bubbles - ensuring that children do not mix. We have also made sure that our staff are very well trained in relation to COVID-19, together with the policies and procedures for effective risk management and control. We look forward to working with all of our children over the rest of the term to prepare for a full re-opening of school in September. Before the end of term we will celebrate the successes of this year and children will meet their class teacher for next year.
For those children not invited to attend school at this time, learning continues online with School at Home. Pupils have access to best-in-class, evidence-based online learning. This includes Symphony Maths, Nessy Reading & Spelling, the Atam Academy Primary Online Library and Bug Club.
Whether working at home or in school, classes are still learning and meeting together online, using Google Classroom. Class Teachers are in their classroom every school day, commenting on children's progress in online learning and providing additional support and teaching materials, personalised to the needs of each pupil. Projects, reflecting the broader curriculum, are set up for children to complete, through a series of Assignments in Google Classroom. These allow children to structure their learning, work independently or with adult support, and to provide feedback to their class teacher.
Thank you to the parents, carers and staff working so hard with all of the children to make sure that they engage with their learning and make the vital progress they need.

Dear Parents and Carers,
We had to keep quiet for just over a month, but it is official that we are an outstanding school. It is is outstanding because of the high quality teachers we have, the stunning pupils we educate and the immensely supportive parent body that backs us with all that we do.
We are a school that is going places and we will never sit still. We want the best for all the pupils and only the best will do!
Please enjoy the report and the outstanding work we do collectively as a community.
Welcome from the Executive Headteacher
It is an honour to lead our successful and vibrant all-through school. Atam Academy has an outstanding reputation, talented staff, committed governors and supportive parents. We value working in partnership together with our young people to achieve the very best outcomes for them. At Atam Academy children have the unique opportunity to stay with us throughout their school career, making lifelong friendships and moving smoothly from one phase to the next.
Our community is proud of this school and its successes from the consistently high performance in examinations to the wide range of creative learning opportunities we offer.
We wish to instil an enjoyment of learning and a desire to always learn more. We have the highest ambitions and expectations for every student in all aspects of school life and strive to nurture these qualities in every child. We want all children to fulfil their potential both academically, socially and spiritually so that they develop strong, core, British Sikh Values and an understanding of the range of choices open to them for their future.
We offer a broad curriculum and know that excellence can only be achieved by constantly providing students with appropriate challenge, raising aspirations and insisting that good behaviour enables great learning.
We are an inclusive school. Our young people are treated as individuals, we celebrate diversity and we are strongly committed to equality of opportunity. We value the partnerships we have with families, the wider community, our International links in Kenya and the quality of relationships we build with them. As a Multi Academy Trust school, we enjoy working with and learning from other schools both within our Trust as well as in the local community and beyond. We take pride in our caring ethos and welcoming atmosphere.
I hope that you will find the website informative. Please do arrange a visit to our school if you would like to see how we work. I am confident you will recognise our commitment to ensure that every child enjoys their learning and achieves.
