Curriculum
Atam Academy is a values based learning community, committed to the education of the whole child. In addition to the English National Curriculum, we follow the Redbridge syllabus for Religious Education and have adopted the Jigsaw scheme for PSHE that is used by the majority of local primary schools. Children also have lessons in Santhia, Sikh Studies and Philosophy, as well as a weekly assembly in our school gurdwara.
We ensure personal development and the creation of cultural capital in every child through our carefully planned knowledge-based curriculum. We draw on evidence-based practice and high quality schemes of work developed by subject experts. These are interwoven with cross-curricular application of knowledge and skills together with:
- British Sikh Values
- Global Citizenship
- Communication and Self-Expression
- Meta-Cognition and Self-Regulation.
